Even though we are in the midst of the pandemic Reach was finally able race at the annual Dragon Boat Festival in Orlando. After a couple months of practice led by our Captains Emme Lee and Rebekah Joe we were able to race against other teams such as Charge of Orlando and many others. We will always be thankful of this experience and to our amazing sponsor Pauline Ho for organizing and C.K. Lau for coaching the team. We will definitely looking forward to racing at the Dragon Boat Festival hopefully next year.

Despite the many cancellations the pandemic caused, including not being able to race in the annual Dragon Boat Festival in Orlando, REACH still tried to give members the experience of rowing. After months of practice led by captain Rebekah Joe and co-captains Emme Lee and Alex Tao, including 10 virtual practices and 4 in-person practices, Team REACH was finally able to race against each other on December 12, 2020. A big thank you to Pauline Ho for organizing the logistics of dragon boating and to C.K. Lau for coaching and steering the team. Also, thank you to Heather Ferrell steering the second boat on race day, Orlando Dragon Boat Club for all the support, and most importantly, all our REACH paddlers! We look forward to racing at the Dragon Boat Festival in the future!
